Even though it seemed to be as cold as a freezer where you lived, you still loved Winter. There was a sound from the church steeple above him and Dia looked up only to have himself roughly stuffed into a sack and thrown through a portal. You pulled your scarf up to cover your mouth as a rather cold breeze blew past you, causing you to shiver. It took a little bit of magic to remove and replace the makeup mask but it made him feel safe and the newly deceased often expected that sort of thing. Flowers dotted his neck and descended underneath his shirt. Running a hand over his face he felt the makeup cover his features in the design of a skull. Dia sighed and curled into a sitting position with his knees under his chin. The wind lifted him up on to the church roof and he watched as glowing sand filled the sky as Sandy got to work. Dia felt warm tears trickle down his cheeks. "Why can I just pass on? I'm dead am I not? So why do I have to stay and look after the grieving?" "Why? Why do I have to help everyone pass through yet never leave? I want to die!" He faltered, alone in the now deserted street. "Is this what you want from me?" He asked, voice cracking. Dia smiled sadly before turning to the newly risen moon.

"Thank you", the ghost smiled at him before fading away. Pulling the fabric back around his waist, Dia turned and smiled at the ghost standing next to him. Tears still dripped down their cheeks but they no longer felt sad. However the child's small frame stiffened and a feeling of warmth and comfort filled their mind. It had burst into flames as soon as it was untied but the flames did not harm the child. Unwrapping one of the many pieces of fabric from around his waist he laid it over the child's shoulders. Twirling to the front of the crowd he approached a crying child. The boy followed them, a dance in his step. The crying increased as the funeral ended and the mourners were expelled on to the streets of Mexico City.

It hung off his shoulders displaying his dark skin and sharp collar bones. He still wore the same dirty white shirt that he had awoken in over three hundred years ago. He looked rather out of place in the sea of black with his purple festival pants and gold and purple fabrics hanging off his hips. There was a funeral precession going on and weeping family members sat around him.

"No, they are many things but they are not guardians".Īcross the world a boy sat in a church. And Dia has not been seen for years! They are irresponsible, selfish -" All Jack does is freeze water pipes and mess with my egg hunts. "Jack Frost and Dia de los muertos?" Bunny exclaimed. "As long as they help save the children right?" "It's okay", she said, snapping out of her day dream. Tooth gave a happy sigh, a dreamy look on her face as her fairies fainted. "Two new guardians? Oh this is even worse". As soon as the name was spoken the figure changed in to a boy with wild hair and sashes tied around his waist. Light began to form above the crystal showing the figure of a boy in a hoodie holding a curved stick. The guardians huddled closer to the crystal all supplying guesses for who the new guardian may be. "He's choosing a new guardian", North answered. "Guys, you know what this means right?" Tooth fluttered anxiously. In response the G on the floor sunk down and a huge crystal rose in it's place.

North sent him a I told you so expression before turning back to the moon. In the light the shadow of a man appeared causing them to gasp. There was no verbal reply but the moon light shone down on the G engraved in the floor. "It's been a long time my friend", North spoke to the moon. All attention turned to him, Sandy pointed at the moon. Hovering over, he plucked the little elf off the floor and shook him so hard that the bell on his hat rung loudly. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted one of the elves licking an empty eggnog glass.

He had spotted the moon peaking through the skylight and had been trying to gain the rest of the guardians attention but it was rather hard seeing as Sandy can't speak. Apparently North had seen a shadow of Pitch encircling his globe. These so called guardians were assembled at the North Pole in North's work shop arguing about the return of Pitch. The guardians consisted of Santa or North as he liked to be known, The Easter bunny or just Bunny, the sand man (Sandy), and tooth the tooth fairy.
